A Mexican actress, she was part of the first graduating class (1976) of the University Center of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM, National Autonomous University of Mexico), a professional acting school headed by Héctor Mendoza, whom she considers her mentor. Drawing from the wide dramatic range she displayed from an early age, she has contributed to more than 50 productions of diverse genres, many directed by legendary figures. Her artistic contribution to the cinematic arts is attested to by more than 15 films, and her successful participation in more than 30 television series has left the characters she played in the memories of many viewers. Actively engaged in her social and political environment, since 2008 Julieta Agurrola Díaz Couder has been member of the Compañía Nacional de Teatro, an artistic group under the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes, in which she has been actress emeritus since 2014 and where she continues in her career as one of Mexico’s leading actresses.
